Seven-Line Prayer
to Guru Rinpoche

ཧཱུྃ༔ ཨོ་རྒྱན་ཡུལ་གྱི་ནུབ་བྱང་མཚམས༔
པདྨ་གེ་སར་སྡོང་པོ་ལ༔
ཡ་མཚན་མཆོག་གི་དངོས་གྲུབ་བརྙེས༔
པདྨ་འབྱུང་གནས་ཞེས་སུ་གྲགས༔
འཁོར་དུ་མཁའ་འགྲོ་མང་པོས་བསྐོར༔
ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་རྗེས་སུ་བདག་བསྒྲུབ་ཀྱི༔
བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབ་ཕྱིར་གཤེགས་སུ་གསོལ༔
གུ་རུ་པདྨ་སིདྡྷི་ཧཱུྃ༔
Hūṃ! In between the West and the North of the land of Oḍḍiyāna,
At the pistil of a lotus flower,
Endowed with the most miraculous achievements,
The “Lotus Born", you are celebrated,
Encircled by the retinue of many Dakinis.
As your follower, I shall become accomplished.
For you to come and grant me your blessings, I plead.
Guru Padma Siddhi Hūṃ.

པདྨ་ The “Lotus Born" | གེ་སར་ lotus flower | སྡོང་པོ་ the pistil of | ལ at
ཡ་མཚན་ miraculous | མཆོག་གི་དངོས་གྲུབ་ supreme achievements | བརྙེས endowed with
པདྨ་ The “Lotus Born" | འབྱུང་གནས་ place of arising | ཞེས་སུ་གྲགས know as
འཁོར་དུ་ the retinue of | མཁའ་འགྲོ་ Dakini | མང་པོ many | ས་ by | བསྐོར encircled
ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་རྗེས་སུ་ as your follower | བདག་བསྒྲུབ་ཀྱི I shall become accomplished
བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབ་ grant me your blessings | ཕྱིར་ in order for you to | གཤེགས་ come | སུ་གསོལ I plead
གུ་རུ་པདྨ་སིདྡྷི་ཧཱུྃ Guru Padma Siddhi Hūṃ
In order to truly grasp the profound meaning of this Text or any other Text, knowing Dharma Language is crucial. Thus, Home earnestly urges that Home Members diligently study this Language following the steps that we have set forth, with the joyful hope that you will very soon be able to read the words and understand the meaning of Dharma, in its mother-tongue.
